Looking to completely redo the dash panel with new gauges. Can't find much for the 72-75 but lots for the 76. Are these panel similar? If not does anyone have any photos of some custom dash panels, aluminum or painted, with new gauges?

The only thing that is the same is the overall size of the dash. Almost everything changes for the 1976 model.

Thanks Tim.... Would a 76 solid dash overlay work where you cut your own holes.... steering wheel cutout and bolt holes the same as 75?

I just took a sheet of plain aluminum. Bent the bottom edge to create the same lip on the bottom. And I just cut out the gauge holes with a hole saw, or whatever was best for the job. When it came to the glove box opening, what I did was take the old dash and hammer all of the parts of the opening flat. Then I traced that on to the new dash, then I just bent the pieces as needed. If you look at it, it will make sense.

I presume that the column location is the same (the column location moves outboard in 1972). The '76 on uses a GM column, so the column cutout will be different.

Sheet metal shop in my town said they would bend up and cut cut holes in stainless for around $85. Complete dash, bent edges and all. Said to bring mine and they would copy it. Check around, all you want is an overlay it should be cheaper. The bend the edges, you cut the holes.

I have a post 76 dash in my 66, worked good with my GM column. The speedo fit and I used some of the spots for gauges, and switches. I also added swinging pedals.
