I have the thick molded rubber ones on my 71 CJ 5 and they appear to be original to the vehicle. I am in the process of a frame off restoration. I came to this thread to see if anyone knows the best method to remove the oxydation from them? This is my first attempt at a reply I may post some pic's if successful

hmmmmm...think I'd try a test patch (maybe on the back side) w/ Armorall or some such.....they make a product for the rubber on bumpers of newer cars as well, think it's like a black polish

our 74 has the originals as well, to get them looking good we used Mother's Back to Black...takes some elbow grease but it worked better and last longer than the Armorall
