74 power steering box coupler

    The lower steering shaft coupler the one that hooks to the box on my 74 is wore out I plan on replacing the coupler with a u joint set up but I need to know what spline count and size the shaft on the box is and what I could get one off of. The box as far as I can tell is original power steering box for a 74.

    The size of the stub shaft on your power steering box should be 13/16 and the spline count should be 36

    You need to alow some change in lenght of the steering shaft. The origional bell coupler had about an inch.

    Its exspensive but the compleate steering shaft is nice.

    is there a cheaper way than buying a whole shaft I got a slip joint I could installin the shaft I have now just cant find a coupler that will work?

    if it is a saginaw box I think a 90s chevy van has what you want they use a double u joint with a short shaft in between the shaft slides apart and could slide onto the shaft you have if not weld it....
