i'll post this here because these came on intermediates. i bought an automatic brake pedal with the mount that goes under the dash,i'm missing the L shaped mount that bolts behind the dash. has anybody got a picture or can tell me how this attaches to the dash. i've read that if it ties into the dash you shouldn't have to reinforce the firewall to instsll the master cylinder.also, what is the L shaped bracket called so i can put an ad in the wanted to buy. thanks, bob

Not sure what you mean by "L shaped mount." There's a "sled bracket" wth a U cross-section that goes from the edge of the dash to the firewall and supports the brake pedal. The parts book says PN 535 1327, "brake pedal retainer." Note that intermediates CJs never came with an automatic, though there's no reason you could not use the manual trans pedal. Usually an automatic pedal is wider, since there is no clutch pedal to interfere.

It bolts to the edge of the steering column bracket, which bolts to the dash.

wll looks like i can't post a picture. i'm thinking that my bracket is too wide to mount to the two bolts on the steering colum.i might have to make a piece to attach it. the bolts on a later model cj must have been further apart. i don't know the model of the bracket i got,but it is a automatic trans brake bracket. thanks tim. bob

Looks like the perfect opportunity to go out and buy some tools. Nothing like fabbing up your own parts.

they used the same setup in the commandos, the pedal is the same, they just did not put the clutch linkage on. same size pedal the hole nine yards, every thing was the same.
