I have at least one complete assembly from a 54 3b, hoses need to be changed. This really is the best filter going. Shipping might just kill it though.

It is my understanding that oil bath filters do little filtering at low RPM, because they require some turbulence to work. I know of one old timer who started to order his new dump trucks with oil bath filters on them, because they were cheaper to maintain. After dusting a couple engines he changed over to paper.

Interesting but not sure it applies much here since there are so many of these still around and on Jeeps. I've not heard of an F-head that failed due to the oil bath insufficiently filtering.

Thanks, yes I read that after I posted. I guess it's like oil types and brands. A person will use what he believes is the best. But it is hard for me to understand why Cat, Isuzu or any of the other engine manufacturer would warranty an engine that works in dusty conditions without the best air filter money can buy.
    No big deal, just saying.

if there was a reusable oil filter.
    I'd jump on that too.

After the oil bath filters, Jeep went to a paper filter with a removable oiled foam wrap. The foam wrap would catch most of the dust, and could be cleaned. This makes the paper filter last much longer.

Cut-to-fit foam wrap is available from K&N.
