T-Case Clocking Ring Questions

    I have a T5/D300 set up...

    :? who's done it?
    :? any tips?
    :? is a extended input shaft necessary? (i swear i've heard it is not, but i can't seem to validate that)

    Just remember this is the EARLY CJ5.com not everything Jeep.com

    I haven't personally done a clocking ring. I have clocked up dana 300's by redrilling the adapters. On some transmissions this can be done on some it can't.

    If we think about this logically however the clocking ring most likely has to be at least 3/4" thick, most likely 1". That's 3/4" to 1" LESS spline contact between the output of the transmission and the input of the transfer case. That's way too significant to not replace the stock input of the 300 with the longer/deeper unit that should imho come with the clocking ring.

    Do a ebay search or pirate4x4.com for clocking ring. Could also go to pirate4x4.com, bulletion board and search vendors. I believe people are making them 1/4" thick, cnc and including all hardware for under $100. I would believe no shaft mod necassary.
