Quick question. Installed a 12" 1650cmf pusher fan that draws 7 amps. Instructions say it should be connect to a 30 amp fuse (no problem there) I just want a simple on/off switch. Can I get by with a 20amp toggle switch:?Do I realy need a relay for this instalation:?

You can use a switch, but I would use a heavier switch. For example, a DS-191 Standard Ignition toggle is rated at 50A (check the marine catalog). The 20A switch will probably be ok, but the 50A switch will last longer. The 30A fuse is picked so that it won't open due to the starting current of the motor. The 7A is the running current, not the starting current.

I agree with Tim here, but I would use a relay. No reason not to IMO.
