I have had this jeep now for over a year and am ashamed to say I still do not know the answer to this question . . . . . How to run the windshield wipers! It is a 68 with the overhead type. I've looked all over for switches, tried tracing the wiring, and still not a clue. I'm pretty sure that in this particular jeep they are not hooked up and functioning, but I would like to know how they are originally supposed to work so I can try and get them going. I did look at previous posts to see if anyone already talked about this, and apologize if I missed it.

My wiper motors (original) are vacuum. They have a little round knob you pull out.

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Vacuum wipers have the pull out knob actually on the outside of the little box on the windshidl frame at the top. Here is a photo of mine. You see the black vacuum line whre it attaches to the motor? See the little chrome knobie thing? That's what turns it on.....

'68 should be electric, if stock. Should be a rotary switch on the left side of the dash
