The shackle alone won't move the tie rod away from the spring..

Worked for me. Tie rod rubbed the spring. We installed some one inch lift shackles. It moved the spring away from the tie rod. It wont move the rod away from the spring.
Tie rod flip does sound like a neat mod, so I'm looking into that now, get more stuff up, out of the junk. Lift shackle would be the easier mod to complete. AND you get 'nuther inch of lift !

I had same problem and went with the flip, but used HIEM joints instead of the tie rod ends. It made for much tighter steering in the end and much better clearance. Got the stuff from Poison Spyder.

I used Old Man Emu Heavy 2.5" lift springs. It is a great set up! By far the best mod I have made to my Jeep.

are you sure your Dana 30 front axle is centered on the spring pack bolt centers? I recall my D30 had 'other' oval holes front and rear of the CENTER perch hole intended for the axle, allowing the whole axle to be too far forward, back or crooked depending on the combination of errors I made. I used a traditional tire spoon under the tires to allow me to singlehandely lift and observe each perch landing centered, since all my jacks and stands were occupied having both ends of the Jeep apart. I can't tell, but if you had the whole axle on the rearish oval hole (assuming your perches are similar) that would facilitate the impinging position, and yes mine lined up with the spring plates seemingly fine like that, but the fact I was using small steel caster shims made the misalignment evident.

Additionally, consider your U bolts 'splaying' after upgrading with the kit supplied 1/2" U bolts, I had to relieve the spring plate holes properly to allow a 1.75" spring and vertical alignment of the U bolts to the axle. Drilling them larger on center barely cut it, and unfort the PO did that before I got there. This is only relevant in the front, and I have the opinion too much splaying affects realized torque spec. Although mine were horribly bad in comparison to yours.

Unfort I just removed my tie rod last night as I am putting that back together but I'll try to get that done tonight and take pics before I move onto the engine stuff I need to do...

    good luck!

yes the axle is on the center round post up front I bought new U bolts due to the ones they sent me were not only the wrong diameter but way to big for the front axle so I got some that fit perfectly from our local 4x4 store ..I got the front together and fixed..i did get the tie rod problem fixed I did the flip yesterday and it looks far better but I have now run into a new problem on the rear on one of the spring perches the center pin of the old spring sheered off about halfway through (dont know how or how long it was like that) but I can not get the new spring to seat properly due to the piece in the perch.. What are some good suggestions for getting that old piece out or just make it seat properly.. I am wanting to just drill it out but I am afraid I might just go to far but if that is my only option I guess I will just have to do it. unless you guys know of any other tricks
