I just gave up and bought a trailer large enough to haul mine. I didn't want to go through the pain and torture of rebuilding the rear end, transmission, transfer case and finding the parts.

it also gave me a reason to buy a trailer (which I use for LOTS of other stuff).

I disconnect my rear driveshaft for flat tows. Someday I'll do the full floater with locking hubs in the back.
The single lever D18 transfer case engages the front axle prior to reaching the neutral position. This means the front driveshaft will be turning while towing. Even if you have disengaged front lockout hubs, the differential and axle shafts will turn. This will only create more drag while towing.

as were already talking about it here

when i get my setup done ill have a D18 and an SM420.... any ideas on what propper setting i should use,

Transfer in N, Trans in gear or would i rather that one be in N as well?

I cheated to bring it home. I flat towed, but as i dont have driveshafts, transfer, transmission, or engine... i just dragged it! (i did make sure my front hubs were free.)
