I bought an old cj a while ago and also got a spare tranny. The seller said its a jeep tranny and he got it with the jeep when he bought it but doesnt know what it is. I will get some pics up soon, I dont know how to post pics on here. It is two wheel drive, it has a yoke on the rear and a brake drum like a dana 18 t case, it looks like it has a pto splined shaft on the front. On the side of the tranny in cursive writing it says HOWD. Any ideas what this might be? Its heavy and I am getting tired of moving it around the garage but I dont want to take it to the scrap yard in case it is rare.

Does this tranny have any numbers cast into the case(kind of raised letters or numbers)
Maybe something like 13 02 xxxx or T86, or similar?
