With the under_seat fuel tanks the fuel comes directly from the bottom of the tank and any junk in the tank goes directly into the fuel line.

Are there any sediment collectors to keep the junk from the fuel line? I'm getting plugged fuel filters and then some junk gets through the filters plugging the idle jets.

I know I need to pull the tank and clean it. I was looking for something to delay pulling and cleaning the tank in the future, while helping keep the fuel clean.

    thanks

Google for "sediment bowl filter" - IIRC Tractor Supply has them.

I'm running duel fuel filters, one before the pump and one after. seems to work well.

If it's got enough rust in it to plug filters (mine did) it's going to start getting thin. I'd just replace it and be done with it.
It'll save you a lot of frustration in the long run...IMHO.

agree with above. Next thing you know it will have a small leak and be leaking through the cancer in the tub and then onto your exhaust. Yhats what happened to me because I kept putting it off.

On my under seat tank the outlet at the bottom is capped. Both supply and return fuel lines go in though the top at the sending unit plate.

I too am in need of tank replacement but I keep putting it off because I dread the issues with a plastic tank and I can't seem to find a good replacement steel tank.

What issues would you run into with a plastic tank?

V6s had a return line to deal with vapor lock.

The MTS plastic tank is one of the better things I've spent money on.;)
    I'd do it again in a heartbeat....But I bet I won't ever have to.

My old man used to put a clothes pin on the steel line in his Ford Fairlane to prevent vapor lock. Evidently my grandfather told him to do that. He said some cars took two clothes pins to dissapate the heat from the line.
