Okay I got posts on a few other boards.

I need a new stock Power Steering Bracket for the 225. I know that most 231/300 even ragl 3.8 with Rear will drive will work. Need the bracket that mounts the pump on the block. My current bracket lifts the pump up by the heads.

    But!

I have been to every salvage yard within a 100 miles and called numerous others not having any luck. Seems when Scrap metal was hot most of the yards dumped anything that would work for me.

Ive also been on Ebay, Craigs list, Jeggs, Summit, Sent Emails to The Buick Farm, Year one and 2 Buick Grand National stores with no luck.

If anyone has a spare,or knows of one etc I am desperate:)

BTW this guy has one for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buick-231-Power-Steering-Bracket_W0QQitemZ200266673817QQcmdZViewItem but it does not look correct?

You can email me or PM me, I will pay top dollar:) I need this part to get my power Brake conversion done.

    Desperate Dave!

That's part of it, you would need this to mount it to the block.

You may, however, have to get the power steering pump to match cause I'm not sure the one you have on there now will work with this bracket setup.
On your current setup is there any possibility of installing a shorter PS belt so the pump doesn't come up as high? I'm thinking of the other guy on the JCCA board who installed that brake booster then couldn't get the cap off the reservoir. I believe that's what he did.
I just happen to have the aluminum part of that P/S bracket that trickpatrick posted. You may run into the same interference problem, maybe not. Here's a picture of it mounted on my 71.

Okay heres what I have now. Again these are pics during after engine build and reinstall so you can get an idea of how my Power Steering pump sits.

the bracket that is on there curretly, that I did not know was not stock we had to modify and gusset to make clearance for the HEI.

You can see how far up this bracket sits the Power Steering pump.

The 7" booster and master Cylinder run smack into it, tilitng it or a short neck wont do. I need to drop the pump back to the block mount like the stock configuration.

Above is a picture of the pump during the engine reinstall best one I see, I think the pump is stock? no idea,l but the bracket that surronds the pump now will not line up with the Buick bolt holes, might be a Chevy bracket and another aftermaret bracket combined to make it work, again no clue Im learning more and more aout the 225 everyday.

That wasnt me that bid $50.00 on that bracket. Im gonna keep my eye on it and see what it goes to. Money right now isnt an issue, well sorta not an issue. $50.00 is worth it to me now. Since I have exhasuted all other of my resources to locate one. If anyone see another one or knows of something else that will work feel free to shoot me a PM. Other wise I think I will email that guy on Ebay if you think thta bracket would work and offer him a buy out price.

Had the motor in the Jeepster for a month, had the Jeepster for 3 months driven it 15 miles one thing after another.

It would be nice if you could see it put together.
It looks like it would sit lower..but hard to say forsure.

    Frustrating.
I know I got mine on Ebay they do pop up alot.
Mine was a buick 350 mount but sits in tight like you need.

Yea They had one on Ebay and it sold buy it now before I could even get bid placed last week.

I think Im gonna keep looking, I have seen simalar pics to the one thats on ebay now and it looks like it sits lower, but not low like it should.

I havent seen any that use that mounting bracket thats included in that one, most of thes I have seen are 1 solild piece that wraps the pump, or two seperate pieces with spacers in bewteen.

I use the bracket off of a 72 Camaro 350 and a pump from a C10 chevy. I cut off the old bolt pattern I made a 1/4 plate to mount to the three head bolts on the end of the head then added the extra two grouve pulleys off a big block chevy for the crank and the water pump pulley was a long neck water pump pulley off a ford big block these were all new pulley's from the auto parts store and needed a little to make them work. If you have a torch and welder you can make almost any thing work just think outside the box a little. Thats what make having a old jeep fun.:v6::)

    Pack Rat,

Any chance you have pics showing where your Power STeering pump sits with that bracket?

It seems different from the strock 225 Brackets I have seen, and I need it as low as possible. I may have to use that and a low neck PS pump combined to make it work.

But I have seen pics of 225's with the correcvt bracket and the 7" booster used with my same Saginaw pump, so it's doable just need the right bracket.

    Or like Joe says.

    Time to start a fabbing.

I have that aluminum bracket- bought it off a guy on ebay. Mine sits up high on the block too. Hey check the classifieds here, someone is selling a complete power steering set up that includes the steering column for like 500 bucks

I have 2 NOS p/s pump brackets for the 225. One is for the F17 smog equipped engine and has the indention for the smog pump and the other is for the F-16 non-smog equiped engine that came without the smog pump indention. Let me know if your still in need.
