The cluster gear is the big gear in the bottom of the transmission that rotates the opposite way from the main shaft.

    Item 49 here: http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/t90_exploded_view_and_key.htm

If you need to change that plus the input gear, you might as well look for a replacement transmission.

You could try posting on Willystech or here and see if anyone wants to trade your T-90C for a T-90A1. A T-86 or T-14 from a V6 Jeep would also work, and be easier and cheaper than a Muncie truck transmission. Or contact Herm the Overdrive Guy and see if he'd take the T-90C in trade for a T-90 or T-14 that's ready to bolt up to your V6.

Got the Dauntless up on the stand today. Pulled the bellhousing, clutch and flywheel. Pulled the plugs, squirted some Blaster in, turned the engine with a ratchet on the crank pulley. You could feel the air blowing out the holes! That's good, ain't it? Next step is to degrease and check compression.

Could not find a tag on the tranny. Embossed numbers are 12725381. Can anyone ID it from that? Has a Warn All-Range Overdrive.

    Thanks, All...

If there's a tag, it will be under one of the top cover bolts. You'll have to pull the floor cover off to see it.

Any other numbers are just casting numbers AFAIK, and not indicative of ratios.

We pulled the cover from inside the Jeep. This opened up a small area around the base of the shifter/s. What I took to be the "Top-O-th-Tranny" was rung in bolts, in a rectangular pattern. If I was looking at the right place there was no tag. There was a tag on both diffs, and I was surprised, so I expected one on the transmission. Surprised again!! :) Guess we'll just have to wait until I pull the 134 .

    Thanks
