Jeeps been in the family for almost its whole life. Sat for a long time outside and im restoring/modifying her. Heres todays work. The fender bolts are tapped into through the frame and tack welded inside. Decided to cut the bolts and simply bore out the holes bigger.

Todays work was slower going than i was hopping.had some other stuff to do in the morning and then had to pack it in early to go to an aunts new house. New uncle has a 20's Whippet with wooden wheels and a bunch of sweet heavy machinery.

I took a pic of the camber of the right side front wheel Pretty weird looking. Bent axle or maybe the tire is warped from sitting so long?

Started needle scaling and wire brushing today. The goal is to have the frame painted by the weekend.

Ive been putting in a ton of hours on this frame these last couple weekends home from school. So far so good, heres a picture of the only spot of rust on the entire frame. The C-channel with the big spot sits inside the rear bumber for extra support, so you wont even know its there. I'll just por-15 everything good and bolt it back together. The good news is that im ready to start painting now, just as soon as the semester ends next week. Also my dad agreed to help me pay for an engine rebuild- :)score!!

Looks good, what were those brackets for just behind the front wheels attached to the frame?

Im guessing they are just for extra support in that area. Back in the day the jeep was used for plowing so maybe just extra frame strength? The fenders bolt to the frame in the holes i drilled out behind the bracket.

I started to paint with por-15. goes on really nice and smooth. The metal-ready formula i ordered from them turns the smooth metal white and makes it so the paint will stick better.

Placing the order for the repli-tub from Willysoverland today. I am also ordering the 2.5" superlift kit from trailquest.com. You gotta figure your buying new shocks anyway, why not just upgrade now? Did the seals in the Spicer 18. and now the drivetrain is ready for paint. Engine is at the rebuild shop now while im at school and should be done by June.

Heres what the frame and motor looked like a month ago. New pics next week maybe.

Well its been a while but here is the latest news. I have the 2.5" superlift installed minus the shocks cause i need longer ones. I used a greaseable shackle by daystar it has an extra 1/2" over the stock C type. i would have liked to go the same dimensions but i would not sacrafice the greaseable aspect.
I also got the engine back from the shop. it was slightly bored to clean up the cylinder walls and has a 3 degree valve job and is fully balanced. they painted it for me but it isnt really up to my standards, i need it needs some black accents and such.

i also learned i have the 5.38 gears in the axles which was surprising. I dont know if im going to like this or not, wont be very good on the highway but then again they never were i guess.

oh and willys overland should almost be done with the body. I actually took out the original dash from my old body and sent it to them so they could weld in the original brackets and the e-brake section. it looks rough in this picture but thats because i was running out of gas while heating the pop-rivets and breaking them with a crow-bar. i managed to remove it without having to cut it up at all.

I havent been on here in a while (busy at school) GO SOX game 7 ALCS.
I dont know if i like the headers from clifford performance yet, seem like they take away from the originality/industrial look. can always switch back. I got the body back from willys overland, they did a nice job with the dash but the transmission cover needed some trimming along with the opening of a few mounting holes. The one thing i dont like about the body is that the metal is not the sanme thickness or quality as the original, much thinner steel very tin sounding.
