I just converted my 79 CJ-5 to propane yesterday and love it. It starts and runs great,I used an Impco 425 setup off of an old propane truck. The install was fairly easy and took about 2 hours to install everything and get it running, and about 2 hours to get the old fuel system out.Heres the link to the install and testing pics:

not sure on yours but i had a HUGE LEAK between the carb and the intake. if'n it's running then it sounds like a vacuum leak. I was skeard to death, but i took a can of ether and started going around the intake. found it.

once i did that it's been good.

    good luck

Worked on it yesterday I wasn't out of propane the rotor button came loose and knocked a hole in the back of the dist. cap.Just one of those things that it started back after I switched tanks:oops: It started missing after that so thinking about it that night and checked it when I got home from work yesterday and found the cap was broken.Well to make a long story short replaced it with a new dist cap and rotor button it runs great. It was a 1/2 tank left in the first tank.Still have a little tuning to do but I am starting to like it!
