Homemade Glovebox

    This is what I did today. I used 22 gauge steel from ACE.

    i am going to install one very simiular bit it will have a dip down at the bottom and a removeable drain. i need a drain to get the water from the ice out. i reckon i can get about 10 beers in it..... will be great for those beach trip we have planned for the completion.

    i also thought about the fake battery box cover and using that as a lid, cause in RHD form it is on my side, and with the screen down i think i could reach beers from the drivers seat.

    8) Answers a question for me. I've got to build a custom size glovebox since I have a power antenna from a 92 Caddy that I may mount on the pass. side. I'll have to fit the motor behind the box. How sturdy is 22 gauge? it looks like it does fine. Good job.

    The 22 gauge will be sturdy enough, but the weak point will be where it attaches to the dash. You may have to fab up some kind of reinforcement at the rear of the glove box for added support. I thought about doing this but decided I would put the heavy stuff in the compartment under the passenger seat.
