Hey guys. I need a new latch for my glove box. Jeep is a 62 CJ5. Been to a couple of local parts houses and we are not sure if it is original or not. Hoping that some one can tell me if it is or not. Here are some pics. Thanks for any help you can give.

Would the FSM show how it goes together?
If not, try hitting a junkyard, and getting something out of a similar era. Probably not made in-house, and probably not many producers to begin with, you may luck out, or at least find something that would be able to work with a modification.

Thats the real deal. FYI Chrysler used the same part up till the early 70's.

Thanks for the offer. I took apart an old cigarette lighter and took the springs out of it. Put a little gunslick in for lube and it is working great. I could not find one anywhere in the area so we improvised it back together.
