    Hello ..
I havent posted much here but I have read a lot of everones else's post,, Im working on a CJ-3b project (Cj3b on 75 Cj5 frame:flag:AMC) & doing the front fenders right now,, Has anyone repaired the area of the bracket that rust out in the center of the fenders ,,, I have two sets of fenders & hope to make one set after Im finished ,,, ANY pointers would be helpful .. Im going to pick out the best of the two & use the other as sacrificial lamb ,,& has anyone used anything other than wood in the bottom of the bracket support ,,,

You can buy a new brace. Someone listed a site awhile back. Maybe someone will remember and post a link...

You can buy the brackets from a number of sources. Jeepdoc.com has them, i believe theyre omix made. I have bought stuff from Classicent.com also. They make their own parts and ive been happy with the quality from them.

Thanks for the leads I have found a few but I dont want it to rust out later,,,Can you tell me if the new ones have the wood in them at the bottom ?? I think the wood wicked water up into the steel,,,Or trapped it from running out ,,, Was thinking about some
1X2 tube & cutting it to the shape of the braket & replacing from top to bottom & seal it up or let it wide open ,,,Planing on POR15 ing it ,,

GOD I love these old Jeeps..R)

Has anyone put a V8 in one of these 3Bs do you have to change the configureation of the fenders any (I might wait till I get the motor on the frame) Im keeping stock exhaust manfolds to limit is size,,

Take the wood out and use the plastic wood available from HD or Lowes. It's in the wood trim area it's used from eaves or soffets.

    Sharpsburg, GA?

I have the same problem with my fenders, 16 ga. steel is what they'remade from. I'm going to cut out the damage and stitchweld in new panels and support brackets when the time comes.
