Little Things...

After a looong day, decided to try to figure out why the turn signals stopped working, I removed the Spartan assembly and disassembled it. Gave it a thorough cleaning, re-installed it and cleaned all the connections. Put a $6.00 flasher in, and voila, I have signals.

That, my friends, is satisfying.

had the same deal with mine. Corrosion kills. A little cleaning goes a long way.

 

After rebuilding my 75 I can say that's better then the norm....Attemp to disassemble the Spartan Assembly-Find screws heavily corroded-Attempt to remove screws with no success-Drills out screws (Alternative Answer-Smash Unit with Hammer) -Find internals beyond repair-Do research and find out they haven't made that part for 30 years-Search internet without success- Search Ebay for weeks-Find part on Ebay weeks later- Pay way to much for part on Ebay-Recieve part and realize it does not work-Start over or forget the turn signals....hand signals are fine

 

TIm, I looked at a pile of them at the local jeep junkyard the other day. If you need one, I'll try to find you one on the next trip. Just let me know.

 

Thought you could still buy Spartans or something that is an equivelant?
