    Hi,
I didnt see what options were available in the tech writeup for a proportioning valve when doing a disc convert on the front D 27 axle. What do you guys suggest for reasonable bling bling $$?

I don't run one and haven't really needed one. My brakes work great without it. I have a 2lb residual valve and the stock 71 master cylinder with factory 10" rear brakes and a dana 30 from a 77 cj5. Been running this setup for about 2 1/2 years now.

Dont need one huh? Could it be that with the master cylinder setup you are using and the res pressure valves, that the ratio front to back is good enough? Which MC are you running anyway (single or dual)?

I am running disc on all 4. Valve was needed. I worked all right without it but worked better with it. As mcruff said, with the drums on the rear you my not need it.

A D30 (With disc) and a D27 with disc conversion are probably very similar in braking action/ master cylinder requirements??

i've been running a d27 front disc with 11 inch rear drum setup for over a year now with no problems. i have a stock master cylinder with a 2 lb valve plumbed in the front, no proportion valve. if i stand on the brakes hard enough i can get the rears to lock up. but in normal driving i have no problems.

The stock 71 MC is a dual unit.
