So I picked up a PS bracket and pump from the local yard and the two curved, slotted holes line up with the two outermost holes on the exhaust side of the head but the main pivot bolt hole doesn't line up with the hole closest to the intake manifold. The pulley alignment with the extra crank pulley seems to be right just only 2 of the three holes line up. Any thoughts on what this is from and what should I look for exactly? I am going to make a template of the three holes and head back the the yard tomorrow morning. This and the hoses are the last things I need to get for my 68.

I searched and didn't find any good pics to help my search. With the amount of snow we have on the ground I can't go wandering in the junkyard like I would in the summer so I am relying on the yard for the correct application out of their storge barns.

    So close. help!

    pics soon

A power steering bracket from a late 70's early 80s Regal with a 231 will work perfectly. Here is a picture of mine.

Now when you look at the picture remember that I cut away a portion of the mount that was sitting above the pump area where the fuel lines pass thru. It mounted the air conditioning compressor or the alternator (can't remember which). Hope this helps!!

    Thanks Mcruff

Well, I found that when I did the search. I have a feeling I am going to end up in the barn tomorrow looking myself so I was hoping someone had a photo to help my search.

I did run that era of vehicles by the yard guy today. Maybe we can find something. Anyone have any photos of their bracket?

Great pic. Is that the 2 piece mount I read about when I did my search?

Thanks guys. I went back and found another pump and bracket today, brought it home and guess what? Wrong one. I think the one I got today is the large cast version I read somewhere would not work. Unfortunately it puts the pump down too low ie into the d-side frame rail. I think I am going to wait until the snow melts and go walking out among the cars. I guess the power steering can wait a little longer.
