I got some leaf springs that come off a later model CJ and I was wondering if I could put them on my 74 CJ-5 and will they lift it alittle? Thanks Randy CJ-5:?:?

    Hey Randy -

I split your post off into a new thread. You'll get better answers by starting new ones rather than tagging onto something kinda unrelated...:beer::)

Your 74 has 1 3/4" leaf springs. CJs after 75 have wider springs, so you'd need to change your spring hangers...
for no benefit. Later stock springs won't give any lift.
Your best bet is a 2.5" lift kit from BDS or Skyjacker, or a 1" from Rancho. Sometimes you can find these used when someone goes larger...

Apparently your post was in another thread that wasn't related to this topic.

You'll get better answers by starting your own thread, and there's no reason not to. Better netiquette as well, don't hijack someone else's thread. It ends up in confusion.

Don't worry about being new, I just thought that someone had asked this question the same day you did.
