tie rod ends

OK round 2 with steering, I now know that i have a tie rod flip with saginaw steering upgrade on my 68 cj, my question is if anyone knows if there is a passanger side tie rod that would work. The PO bent the stock tie rod brazed and re- tapped the extra hole in the tie rod, any help would be great. I have searched and seen different configurations of steering but can not find something that works for my application, and yes i know:uwop: but try to get the camera from my wife is like getting at t-bone from a pit bull, useless and sometimes painful.

 

I am using the tie rod with the extra hole i thought about the 2 hole knuckle but probably wind up doing a tie rod flip on that also so trying to come up with different plan

 

The problem is that the taper for the drag link goes in the wrong direction along with the bend is exactly oppiste i have a stock tie rod end but cant use it

 

OK so the commando is oppisite from stock, i appriciate the info do you know who may stock that tie rod

 

Ok if you look at the first pick it would appear that the new tie rod in my hand would be perfect, only one problem i need to turn it over and that will not work, i also have a picture of my saginaw steering box, if someone recognizes what i have i would appreciate any knowledge that i can get at this point looking forward to comments now that i have pics, and yes its dirty because i did not wash it from the first desert trip.

 

I'm not gonna swear to this but I think the Commando tie rod has the taper in it the same way the cj tie rod did, it's just bent the opposite way from the cj unit. I'd almost bet that if you pull that apart that the taper has been brazed and re-cut from the opposite side as stock. This would seem normal for installing the tie rods on top but makes buying and using a stock one impossible.

 

OK i believe that but what does a beginer mechanic do to recreate this scenario :evil:

I may have found a place for this tie rod set up it is call ed Rustys off road i sent him some pictures and he said he can make it work they all ready have a setup just like mine for xj and yj setups i will let everyone know if it works out

 

Rusty's is about 25 miles away from me.

 

Do you have much experience with any of his products some of the stuff looks preety good
