Well guys it's been a year since I started taking my cj6 apart. I did ok for three months and then everything stopped.:( (life got in the way) Well I got a wild hair and some more money R)and started again. I have gotten throught the taking it apart and am about to start the puttin back together. I took lots of pics, notes and all that like some of you told me to however, I can see I will need alot of pointers from the guys that have been there before. I have seen alot of nice rigs out there and hopfully I can get mine from the rust bucket deer lease jeep to the ride around town with top down jeep. I have lots of pics and will take lots more. My frame is at the powder coating place however, I having second thoughts and thinking about telling them to not do it and bring home and paint it. :? All the suspension parts should be here this week and I hope the axles are back this week as well. I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions and looking for advice over the next year. Its a 66 cj6, dauntless V6 27a front, 44 rear, 35000 miles, motor ran when I started the tear down. It been in hte family for at least 32 yrs. enough of the blah blah blah lets get to work. a few are attached I will figure out the photo bucket thing and put them all on there.

You've got a good start. If it's in your budget/time frame the powdercoat is the way to go IMHO, I didn't but economics played a roll in that.
Keep us posted as you progress, and of course pics:)

Well we had a great day working on the 6 ( i need to name her i guess) today. Got word back the frame should be done tomorrow and started getting suspension parts from the brown santa  ( i just relized what that was today, those guys are coool) the rest should here tomorrow as well. Pulled the motor and tranny out to start cleaning them up for paint. I found guy who does soda blasting, who said he could do it all for $100 so I droped it off today and it should be back tomorrow. He says all I will have to do is rinse the dust off and paint. I saw some work at the shop and that is the way to go on body parts. He says they are ready for primer when he's done and it doesnot pit the metal. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, I can't wait. I posted some new pics of the motor and as requested the tranfer case, Walt if they are not what you need I have some more. Take care and be safe.

Another great day! Frames back from powder coat, man it looks good. Motor cleaned and primed. My dad said we should rebuild the motor while its out and I said if you got the money I got a motor. So it looks like he is going to rebuild the dauntless. Lift kits in, still missing some shackles and bolts will check on that in the morning. The only thing missing is those axles. Kinda worried haven't heard from the shop and its close to turkey day. I posted the new pics. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Thnx for the pic"s. That shows me that I don"t have the same adapter (b-hou to tran) as yours so I guess I have to go with what I have. Apprec it. Your project looks like a winner.

Hello all, finally back to posting my progress. Many things have happened since my last post. The brown santa and the other multie colored santa(depending if its ground/express etc) has brought many tools, toys and parts to continue the making of ( need a name :?) my 66 cj6. Frames back, axles rebuilt, lift kit, seals, brake parts and shocks all sitting in the shop waiting to be assembled. Got the rear axle rebiult w/ new brakes, springs, shocks installed and now working on the front. Its funny i took 2 weeks off and I have had only 2 days of shop time. Glad I took pics and notes, cause my brain not work so good after I sleep. I attached some pics from my photo bucket.

Take care and Happy New Year
