I have a 71cj5 with the v-6 Can anyone tell me the correct length of the dipstick from the tip to the collar? My collar is gone and so I sort of guess on whether it has the correct amount of oil. I think I can repair it with a collar from something else but would like to know how long to make it.

    I appreciate your help.

Mine measures 23" . Add a quart mark is 2" from tip and full is 3". My stick part # is 1379886 in case you want to check to see if our sticks are the same.

Mine measures 14-1/4" from tip to colar. pt#1374247 225 v6 dauntless. Now I question if mine is correct. 23 inches from tip to collar would even work without hitting bottom of pan?

Both of my 6's have the same stick and they both have the tube that goes in the block. Thought it was the only one for a dauntless. I am always happy to learn something new about these vehicles.
