Clutch swap on 74 w/ 258

    Quick questions, I turned the flywheel and decided to throw a new OEM clutch set in. After buttoning it up there is a lot of pressure on the clutch pedal. If I go for the 1" or so of play at the top of the pedal, theres not enough to disengage clutch. If I lengthen the rod to get clutch to work right (1/2") theres a lot of pressure on the pedal. Suggestions?

    The last time that happen to me the sleeve on the transmission input shaft was worn out. Not allowing the throwout bearing to slide into the clutch fingers.
