MY title and vin# put this jeep as a 70 built in 69. But the body I think might have been off of a latter model. It has swing pedals with cluth master cylinder under dash, rear fuel tank with fill on pass side rear, no tailgate, amc 304,no tool box on pass side, the original frame seems to be stretched 3-4 inches with angle iron, and home made engine mounts:rofl:

    The axles are a d27, a flanged offset d44, and a d18 twin stick:)

The frame was trashed so I got a 68 v6 frame to put the parts on but now I think that I might be getting into a lot of problems. Is there some thing else I should look at. Like the length off the fenders or something like that.

I have a buick 231 and a sm420 to go in.But I don't want to have to buy a whole new body. If this is a body from a latter model can I just get fenders and grill to make this work? What year could this body be from? What could be other problems I might run into?

    thanks. jeremy

Jeremy, welcome aboard. the vin you show is missing a few didgets, if the last four is really the last four, you would have a Jan 70 build date.

Pics! they would help answer alot of questions about the origins and condition of your CJ, also get you some fairly good advice on what to do with it.

Looks like you have a '70 cj5 with a twin stick conversion, and someone put a later cj tub on, with early fenders. That tub looks alot like my '80 jeep. Good luck with you project, and welcome aboard! :)
