lots of sm465 questions. please help!

    are you guys sure i cant use my 71 bellhousing? it seams like it would work after its drilled out, plus i can ditch that adapter thing for the t-14. do i even need that for the 465?

    it would be a lot easier it i could use my 71 bell because its allready out of the jeep and i could have it machined and everything without making my jeep useless

    IIRC the pre-71 bell is the GM bell, needed for the SM465. The adapter isn't used with the SM465.

    The 1971 bellhousing has the adapter cast into it, the pre 71 bellhousings use a separate adapter.
    This is a 1971 bellhousing, notice there is no adapter between the transmission and bellhousing. If you have an adapter to couple your t14 to the bellhousing then you have the proper bell to use with a sm465.
