air filter on v6

what kind of air filter do most people use?bob

 

my 66 cj6 came with an oil bath seems good enuf just a little messy to service

 

i have one that came off a 1970 buick skylark with a 350, 2 barrel carb.had a muffler shop make a 2 inch tall spacer to fit between the carb and buick air cleaner. my oil bath that came on it had a bad habit of dumping oil when on a steep incline or when i would lay it on its side.

 

I bought a 4-barrel chrome one that had a plastic adapter to fit a 2 barrel. Got it at Checker's. Its about 9" in diameter.

 

K&N! Alot cleaner than that old oil bath P.O.S

 

i got one of those 4'' diameter filters that clamp to the neck.i got busy on working on other things and forgot about it.i need more airflow.hey gixx,how does that adapter ring work?bob

 

my carb ,which is a 2g,does not have a place to put the 1/4" threaded rod that holds the air cleaner in place.the jeep might have originally had the oil bath filter i'm not sure.i've got to get a bigger filter for sure.bob
