    Hello...

I have a Kaiser CJ5 (unsure of the exact year, but late'60s). I am trying to locate a rollbar. Does anyone know what years/models are likely to fit?

Any sportbar that bolts to the rear fenderwell tops should fit. 76 & up, the vertical bar slopes to the rear a few degrees, but it will still fit fine. If you want to keep the authentic 60's look, stick with a bar from a 75 or earlier.

Does anybody have the dimension from the corner of the wheel well to the vertical bar front to back? I have looked at pictures but they seem to vary. Kinda looking for some sort of consensus

If it helps, the installation location is determined on an early-intermediate by the bow pockets. The bow pockets are pieces of tubing facing upwards, behind the seats, in the edge of the body. The bar slides forward against these.

I do not know what year my rollbar is from, but my body is a '65 transplant. My Bestop bows/hardware "scrape" the sides of the front rollbar and will not go down all the way when my top is off and the bars are in their storage configuration. The edge of the front bow (lateral) support sticks out a little more in the front than the rear horizontal supports.

    I'm modifying a Poison Spider cage for a CJ7 to fit a 68 CJ5 (major rework).
I've been wanting to get measurements from the floor to the inside of a Besttop top at the tailgate and forward at the highest part of the top, but don't have anyone around to get them from.
If anybody can get that information I would appreciate it

    Thanks, CC

Excellent... thank you very much. Now it's just a matter of finding one; a little tougher than I thought it would be.

I have what looks like a later 5 or 7 fender mount rollbar but there is no way it will fit behind the soft top bow mount. I tired to fit it in last night and it also seems like its too wide for my CJ5 (maybe by 3 inches). I didn't get a chance to take any measurements off the rollbar but I wonder if its for another application. Did Broncos or Scouts use the same style rollbar?

    Thanks,
    -Dean

Could be for a different vehicle, but the fit between the body edges is an 'interference' fit. You can usually spring it in with muscle - put one side in and put your back into pushing against the other side so it will pop in and under the lip of the body. Or, you can uses a rachet strap to pull it together and then it will drop in.

<edit> BTW I made the comment about the bow pocket from memory - my CJ-6 doesn't have one. Somebody out there can confirm it though.

Mine is set at 7 1/4 inches back from the edge of the well (from front) width seems to be 55 3/8 inches side to side. there is an inch of space between the bow pocket and the upright. I just run a Bikini top all year round.
