Last night I got a chance to look at the parts from my T90 and I need to order some new parts. I was flipping through a catalog to check some prices and it listed 2 different T90 input shafts. One is 9 1/16 inches long and has 18 teeth and the other is 9 1/8 inches long and has 16 teeth. The shaft I took out of my T90 is 9 1/16 and has 16 teeth, not one of the sizes listed (I measured it at least a dozen times).

Is this another shaft size that wasn't listed in the catalog or have I got something strange here.

Is the extra 1/16 in lenght on the splined part of the shaft? If so I could have the long shaft shortened by 1/16.

    Thanks,
    -Dean

I just rebuilt my T90 but I did not have to replace the input shaft. It is alot of fun, rebuilding the t90. My suggestion and I am sure others will agree(even though I did not order parts from him)is to call Herm the Overdrive Guy. He is suppose to be a guru with these trannies. Do a google search to find his website. I hope that helps. Bob

I think I measured mine from the wrong part far ago in the past... but I believe it was a 16 tooth..

Herm set mine up, and did a lovely job on the T90. Ironically, the OD however... ::grumble::

I can't imagine that 1/16th of an inch would even matter.

Thanks for the replys and the picture. I have been talking to Herm about getting some gears for the transmission and possibly some other stuff (dual master cylinder kit) but he hasn't had any answers for my questions about the input shaft.

And while the 1/16 of an inch may not matter, I want to make sure before I put it all back together. Time to do a dimensional stackup.

    Thanks again,
    -Dean
