www.hermtheoverdriveguy.com has new Saturns, new ATVs (reconditioned Warn housings w/ all new components), and some used Warns or Huskys that have been rebuilt. Range in price from ~$700 (used) to $950 for some of the new ones. I'm sure shipping can be arranged.:v6:

Just for economical purposes (not to be rude) It's US Dollars since this is international. I plan to go through Herm for mine if I can't find a used one somewhere on a farm.

Herm is your best bet, especially since he will ship internationally.

It took me 2 years but I got mine on e bay for a little less than herm I got a nice warn unit hope to test it in a few weeks.

It took running a auto search for every week to find it. Now is this what yuval is referring to? I for one do not know of a 4 speed OD for the early CJ5

Herm has a ford 3spd + OD (unsure of the model) that would replace the current 3spd.

Its an RTS transmission I think. Its an aluminum number out of some single or two year production run transmission.. like a 1/2 ton pickup I think he said. My unqualified opinion says parts may be scarce.

On a side note, I've been having problems with Herm's overdrive. I had Herm rebuild a T90/D18 and had Herm himself put an overdrive on it.

When I got it into the jeep, it never even traveled into direct, and popped out of gear in od. I took the back unit off, thinking (actually he said, I don't know what I'm doing!) it could be a stuck roll pin on the shift fork lever. Drove it back out to Herm... He took it apart and couldn't find anything seriously wrong with it, but whatever he did changed the amount of travel in the shift fork lever by a quarter inch.

So now its back on there, but it still pops out of direct under heavy juice. The barrel gear is still way over as per Herm's spec sheet (further from the tranny).. I'm down to a shim kit I just got yesterday.

And if that doesn't work he gets it back. Maybe I just have bad luck.

Anyhoo.. had I not lived a few hours away from Herm, and long distance phone calls cheap, that might have sucked. I'm learning! New installs are always complex.

It's a variant of the top loader, and mentioned here: http://www.5speeds.com/toploader.html

Either Herm or R&P would know about it, if you were interested in going that route. For a Jeep with a Dana 18, I don't see much advantage to the OD top loader over the Warn/Saturn unit.
