Last night I went to press the clutch pedal and it was higher than normal. I pushed it in and when I let it out there was alot of grinding. I made it home by resting my foot on the pedal. (stops the grinding) My guess is the pressure plate? Ideas?

the throw out bearing could be coming apart. thats why when you rest your foot on it it ,it gets quieter.could be a place to start

When the living room gets painted and the water damage in the bathroom gets repaired...I'll pull it down and give it a good inspection.

You got stock through-the-floor pedals? I had this happen to me last summer and it was linkage. I thought for sure it was TO until I crawled underneath; some new hardware from ACE and I was back in biz. Not sure a bad TO would raise the pedal, but that bad linkage made my pedal a bit higher, and a lot harder to push.

I don't think you would call it through the floor pedals. The pedal hinges from above and a rod goes down to a...something that bolts to the frame with a grease fitting. If the pressure plate went bad could something start grinding on the clutch fork? This doesn't sound like a bearing going bad. It sounds like something is in the wrong place and the pressure plate is knocking the heck out of it.

do you have an inspection cover you can remove on the bottom of the bellhousing and look at the clutch ?
maybe a bolt has come loose and fallen out, flywheel, press plate, etc

The inspection cover is missing. Also it has another hole in the bottom of the bell housing. There is nothing sitting in the bottom of the bell housing... But it could of fallen out.
