Distributor?

HEY GUYS! My friend at work just hooked me up with some new wheels, and tires and while we were behind his shop I found ANOTHER Jeepster!! I was really excited and I was asking him about it and he said the guy wants to do an all original restoration. The reason it is not running is because of the distributor. Any idea where I could get one? Its the good ol' :v6: so it shouldn't be too hard. I actually think its the Hurst Edition (I was on my lunch break so I couldn't drool long and I had to load up my wheels). Just wanted to help get another Jeepster on the road!!! Its a BEAUTIFUL Cali body with out any rust, I was SOOOO jealous of his floor boards!! HA Any help you could give would be GREAT!

Hurst? I think we need some pictures of that ! If it is a Hurst you might want to point the owner in the direction of the Hurst website. Where about in NC? Buddy of mine in Asheville could probably set him up with a distributor. He could also tell this guy about anything he needs to know Hurst wise.

 

Now don't hold me to the idea that its a Hurst! I really just got a chance to look it over REALLY quickly. (I only had a 30 min lunch today) I'll head back that way with the camera and see what all we have. I'll be sure to post!

 

Even if it's not a hurst we won't hold that against you . Where in NC?? I actually have a couple of spare distributors just sitting here doing nothing. My Hurst is the only one that's going to be running a stock distributor and it's getting Pertronix in it. My 71 has HEI so I really only need one for a spare.

You can get a distributor at CarQuest or any local auto parts store too as far as I know.

 

So when I looked at it before, the front end (up to the windshield) was covered with a tarp and so I couldn't really see any stripes or scoop. I might, however, head up that way tomorrow and take some pictures, but then again I might use the BEAUTIFUL weather to work on my own baby! Also my friend whose shop it is, is in Myrtle Beach for the weekend. Once I find out more info and pictures I'll be RIGHT on here!!! =]
