I realize ithis question is probably ultimately unanswerable, given the way Jeeps were put together from whatever was laying around from the factory..

What is the original lens color for the front turn signals on a 75? When I got my hands on this thing it had white (clear, ha ha) lenses with corroded in place amber bulbs. A friend has given me amber colored lenses, which he insists are correct for a 75. I like the white "frosted" ones, and I'm gonna keep 'em. I'm just curious. Jeep originally sold in CA, if that makes a difference. He drives a 61, I'm sure they were "clear" at that vintage. I do recall, (I'm denfinately old enough} that there were a few transition years where they continued to use white lenses with amber bulbs, but I thought that to be circa 1964-1968...

Mine are also clear on my 75, according to the replacement part picture @ 4WD harware it also shows a clear lens for 72-75 CJ Jeeps. I think yours are correct.

Both my '73 CJ-5 and '75 CJ-5, bought new off the dealer's lot, had amber lenses with clear bulbs.

Funny ... that's what my memory says too. I was surprised to hear of the clear lenses with an amber bulb.

The amber lenses are available - I bought a pair for my truck.

Clear was stock, at least on all the ones I've seen including the ones on my CJ-6 that is using a stock '75 grill. Tim, the pics you have linked to show clear front turn signal lenses. Does show amber fender marker lights though....

Both my 74 and my 78 are clear with amber bulbs. Different styles, but both are clear (clear-ish anyway, they're pretty milky with age, not quite crystal clear anymore).

Here are some pics of an Original '75 Brochure. Looks clear to me.

Here is also a few shots of my '75 CJ5 with Amber lenses and Amber Bulbs, I think it looks cooler.

    Todd.

Mcguire's (sp?) plastic cleaner and polish works great on lenses as well as soft top windows. Nickmil

Todd, I'm lovin that brochure! That's gonna settle a lot of arguments..as I suspected, the irritant was almost completely stock when I got it. Its got the cigar lighter, and the slide for the ashtray, nice to know those were factory installed options. Now I gotta find the ashtray.

My wife ordered the Jeep with rollbar delete, she "didn't like how it looked".
Older and wiser now, first thing she complained about when we got the Jeep back was no rollbar. I ordered a period one from a yard in Sacramento...requested one that would match the angle of my windshied, as opposed to one at 90 degrees. When I got it, it had a sticker on it from Whitco, with a PN, and an AMC logo. Acording to the brochure, it looks incorrect for a 75, but like yourself with the amber lenses, I don't care, I like it.

    Those pics made my day.
