Just brought home my cj5, It needs some tender loving care, has 32000 miles on it. It seems to be in pretty good mechanical shape, runs super. It came with a meyer snowplow. I'll try and post some pics.

Congrats on your purchase! Looks real nice. Interesting '70 with the hood mount side marker lights and factory looking roll bar. I'm sure folks here will be asking about the manufacture date.

Howdy from W. MI. Great looking Jeep! I always like those old school chrome wheels.

I'd inspect steering and brakes...change out all the fluids right down to the diffs. Springs as well - if they're original they probably need to be replaced.

    How's she run?

Other that that...clean 'er up, get the seats reupholstered and drive!

Thanks guys, this website is great.

A guy owned it near Reno, Nevada. He seemed to keep up on the oil changes and maintained it regularly. He kept all the reciepts. In the last 12 years it has been driven less than 1000 miles. A friend of mine had it and it was just sitting in his barn, and I kept bugging him if he ever wanted to sell, to let me know. My Dad had a 71 when I was growing up, and the sound of the Dauntless V6 coming out of the dualed out mufflers, brings back so many good memories.

My friend needed some money, and He came to me and offered to sell it. I picked it up quick before he changed his mind.

Just driving around the yard has been soo much fun. My kids love riding in the back, and I am hoping to make it a fun project for my kids and I to fix up.

You got something hairy leaking from your front differential. Other than that it looks great!

    do not use the plow!!!

it isnt good for the frame and if you want to keep it around for a while it is cheaper to buy a $800 beater plow truck and save the frame and driveline of the CJ

and change the fluids and go from there, im sure youll find broken things or things you want to upgrade

Put in a new windshield. That white around the edges is the lamination between the glass going bad. Wont pass inspection soon. $100-130 local auto glass store.

Assuming, of course, that the owner lives where there are such inspections...;)

Kewl I know Jeeps are versatile but I've never seen one that plays basketball. x2 on changing all fluids if it's been sitting that long. Nice that it had a barn home cuz rust never sleeps.

really nice rig! now if you tell us that you got it for $200, someone's gonna get hurt ;)

enjoy it. i'd get rid of the plow and mountings if they're still there. sell em or put on a beater truck as was suggested.

check for cracks on the frame esp around where the plow was mounted (they can be fixed).

    it looks really nice.
