I'm so pleased with the result's I had to share, I scavenged a wiper motor from my 89 Caravan and installed in the Jeep.
I had to modify the arm to shorten it, but other than that I'm VERY pleased :)

The motor is smaller and the wiper is more effective and parks higher and out of the way.

    Here's some pic's

I put the Caravan motor on the driver's side

I like the motor, but would replace the wire nuts with some 12VDC watertight connectors.

I have a similar set on my '65, but without a park function. Mine are aftermarket units. Betsy had vacuum wipers from the factory.

Those look like the motors that all the 4WD vendors carry as a replacement unit for ECJ's. I had one and thought it was junk, frankly. The shaft was way too long (took it apart and cut it down), the blades didn't clear the water very well, and the park location kept changing. Then after one or two years the motor burned out.

Very cool. I might have to grab a few from the junkyard.

Todd, looks like you need to head to a u-pull-it and grab one for the passenger side! :)

Love the sprinter! and the wiper setup applies ALOT more pressure on the blade so it actually does something and if your not looking at it you don't know it's running cause it's soo quiet. and almost looks like it was made to be there.

I have a set. They are made by Chin Lang Autoparts, and carried by Rugged Ridge.
I Didn't cut down the shafts, I made wooden standoffs the same height as the ones for the vacuum originals.
