I have searched the threads for information on power steering conversion, But have not found what I need to know. Can someone tell me what pitman arm I need for the S-10 box I'm putting on my 72 cj-5. The shaft on the s-10 is bigger than the manual cj- shaft.
    Thanks Radar

How about a pitman arm for an S10 steering box? Typically the spline count is different between a manual and a power steering box too.

The s-10 has a stud and the cj has a hole for the drag link.

The 4x4 S-10 box is a common and popular swap for Wagoneers (to replace the original PS gear), and AFAIK the factory pitman arm bolts on. Sounds like the difference is between manual and power in Jeep apps.

Tell me the diameter of the S-10 output shaft and I'll measure the Jeep PS gear I have in my basement.

How tall is your jeep? You have much lift? I have a YJ power steering 4" drop arm on Green Jeep. I have a lot of lift on Green Jeep and the pitman arm sits right at the height of the tie rod. I think it is too low. I looked at an XJ power steering pitman arm the other day. I think that one also sits a tad low for my application. The stock late CJ pitman arm is straight, no drop. I think that is too high for my application. I am thinking a 2" drop YJ or a 4" drop CJ for mine. If you don't have a lot of lift, like Black Jeep, the stock late CJ arm works good.

    4" drop YJ

Well I hate to bother you guys, but I'm not having any luck finding a pitman arm. When you lifted your jeep what did you do with you stock power steering pitman arm when you put a drop arm on. Does anyone have one they don't need, and are willing to sell?
    Thanks radar
