I have the magnetic type, but they are a PITA to me. Others may disagree. I plan on using diodes at the tail lights and wiring forward to the front, utilizing a plug at that end and installing a "jumper" on my tow bar, when I get that built. All it takes is time, which unfortunately I have little of. :(

I use magnetic lights and have never had a problem. I picked them up at U-Haul.

Both of my jeeps have trailer hook ups front and rear. I am removing all the extra wiring and will be going with the magnetic type to keep the jeep wiring as simple as possible. I no longer have a tow vehicle. So I will try to set up some kind of universal system. So I can quickly hook up to friends vehicles

just a thought on the subject, put in a plug in in the harness, one end in the harness that goes to the front of the jeep, and the other end that goes to the tail lights, just unplug them and plug in a jumper to the towing rig and to the harness that goes to the tail lights, like the diod deal mentioned earlier, but just a little over my head,i understand how it would work, and sounds like a cool idea

Diodes - 3 of them. Before that clamp-ons. I switched because it was so much faster to hook up and unhook that it made it a no-brainer to tow up to the end of the pavement and not hold up the rest of the group.

I have mine wired into my Buick Regal wiring harness. I "T"ed onto the rear tail light wiring. All as I have to do is unplug the connector from the fuse box and I'm good to go. If I don't it doesn't work right. It get feed back through the turn signal switch.

I towed it today to go to Evans Creek ORV Park.

I made my own wiring harness for the entire jeep. I split the wires to the rear and ran a set to the front hooked up to a plug in the grill. Had to put a switch on the dash to disconnect the right turn signal from the turn signal control to prevent feedback. Have a pigtail that plugs into the jeep and the tow vehicle. Works great and hooks up quickly.

I'm using magnetized ones as well (Harbor Freight on sale I think under $20.00). Easy to put on and take off. Have to use them cuz I still have a 24 volt system.
