T98/t18

    Hi I want to replace my T98 with a T18 is the adapter plate between the transmissoin and transfercase the same ? Thanks

    Should be. The adapter on the back of my T-18 is actually stamped "T-98."

    The adapter is the same but the output shaft is different and do not interchange. Nickmil

    Output shaft needs to be 6 spline. Jeep T18 and T98 is 6 spline, Ford is a fine spline with like 30 splines, but i forgot how much.

    No.
    The place where the gears ride is completely different between the T-18 and T-98. You need an output shaft from a Jeep or IH Scout T-18 that had a 20 or 18 transfer case on it. Novak and AA build these shafts new but I'd look for used if possible. Nickmil
