I just had my carb rebuilt. It seems to run fine but when I shut off the engine a small amount of gas leaks out from around the throttle shaft where it comes out of the side of the carb. Once in awhile the carb also seems to load down with fuel. Any suggestions.

Float set too high letting too much gas into the bowl?
That or the needle's sticking open.

Did you use a a carburetor solvent or cleaner when it was rebuilt?

you may have a pice of lint of the shop rag etc or a small piece of dirt holding the needle seat open just enough to cause these headaches, quick remedy that works most of the time is disconnect fuel hose @ the fuelpump <the pickup line that goes to the tank> start it up and run it till it runs out of gas, hook line back up and restart, the empty bowl will let the fuel flow in rather quickly, and will most of the time flush out the obstruction. if this is the problem to start with

I just bought a rebuilt carb from NAPA and it leaked in the exact same place. The NAPA guy said he could fix it so I left it with him. When I picked it up he said all he did was fix the float level, and it seems to be fine now.
