My bestop is falling apart (zippers are really stuck, cut in one window, stitching is coming undone) and a guy here is selling a brand new Kay line top for $75 without hardware. Will this fit?

After searching around it looks like Kayline went out of business so getting hardware wouldn't be easy.

Hardware is going to be different between the two.

If you can find the hardware go for it.

Hmm... anybody know a place that would have the hardware? I can't find anybody that still carries it.

Well, I emailed them anyways. If anybody is still checking the email maybe they have some old inventory lying around.

Seams to me like you could adjust the hardware, The Tops the hard part, if its in good shape it dosn't seam like a bad deal. The Kline hardware for my 3B was prity simple. Two 3/8 rods, one with a washer welded to it, for the doors and two bows. My 2cents.

The door latches are totally different styles. I don't see how you'd make it work adjusting the hardware?

The top bow for a Bestop will be too far behind the door for the latch to catch. I suppose you might could rig something up, wouldn't be that easy, well, at least for me.

 Like I said, for me it wouldn't be that easy, for someone else it might be.

Specialty Top Co. (who bought Kayline years ago) tells me they're in the process of selling the business, and that they should be reopen sometime. When? Who knows, I haven't called them in awhile. No idear what name it'll be either, I just hope it ain't Bestop.

Anyhoo, my Denver phone book sez their local # is 303-487-9939. The above info from tjg358 may not be valid anymore.

I called them up trying to get some oddball stuff and they wouldn't budge or even tell me if the new owner would be selling the same products. Who knows.

I don't think it will work well. The Bestop doors are wider than the kayline I believe. You would have to do a lot of custom fab to make it match, and I don't think it would ever look right.

I would think that someone out there has a set of kayline top hardware that they would be willing to sell, since kayline is out of business. Might put an ad in the "Want to Buy" sections of the classifieds.
