Bikini top without windshield

I'm bored right now so thought I'd try to do something useful)

Anyway, I wanted the ability to drop or remove the windshield and still have shade from the Bikini top. I contacted Best top and had them send a track. I attached this to the front and top of the roll bar. With the help of my shoe repair guy, the top was modified and fits fine. The track stays in place when I install the full top or have the shield up with no problems. Nice to have a breeze and shade while off road now. Just thought I'd pass this on.

I had the shop that did my cage put a track on the front hoop for that same reason. It is very nice to have the shade without the windshield.

Could also hold up a surf board or kayak.

That's a cool idea. I got the same Jeep E-brake.

That was the prototype E-brake: The production model has a rope attached to it so it can be swung in place while seated ;)

hey Slaghammer I've been kicking around this idea too, can you give me some more details on what you had to mod on the top, and specifically how you attached the track to the roll bar
    tks

  7. I did about the same thing. I cut the track off of an old windshield frame and spot welded it to the front of my rollcage. I did not do any modification to the bikini

I just drilled and used sheet metal screws. Just make sure the location wont interfere with the windshield or a full top later. After installing the Bikini top, just mark with chalk where you would want the sides etc to end up and take it to someone with a sewing machine for leather.
