Could someone measure for me how far a dual MC sticks out at the front from the top frame edge and at the back? I have the single MC and want to convert to the dual MC with the stock mounting brackets. I have a auto trans conversion and I think that it might hit the front edge of the auto "bellhousing".

    Thanks in advance,
    Josh

You might consider a remote reservior master. Much smaller dimensions. AM

I'm mostly through a conversion with Herm's kit. But right now the bellhousing is the stumper..

I believe there is a post here somewhere about someone using banjo fittings to hook up to the master cylinder so the lines don't come straight out. As far as using the original mounting the single M/C mounts with bolts through the frame and the dual mounts with bolts to the rear. Different set up all together.

No I'm talking about the body of the MC may be too wide to fit between the trans and the frame. Can any one give me a measurement of this? The frame is a C shape. How far from the top inner edge of the frame rail does the MC stick out (into the middle)?

Mine is also the same dimension.

JZ, I solved the hydraulic line clearance problem by using nuts on the 3/16 inch tubing that fit directly into the master cylinder. I bought them from Eastwood.

I thought that I was on the path to success, but reality has set in. Since I am doing this job with the tub in place, I find the my pre-novice welding skills did not include welding inverted (the top of the bracket needs to be attached to the top of the frame.

So, after setting myself on fire (twice), the weld is done. Attaching the MC to the bracket (as far to the left as possible) still leaves my banjo firmly in contact with the bellhousing.

Herm suggests that my engine is mounted wrong. There does seem to be a lot of discussion about this. I am very concerned about having even one of my brake lines in contact with (or even real close to) a vibrating engine.

Another issue (besides having to shorten the plunger by 1 inch...) is that my plunger does not really line up well with the pin on the brake lever.

So; I am really not done yet. At this rate I may have a fifty year old before I get it on the road.
