    OK, question 6 of 100++.....

    I have been wondering about this one for a while. I went out tonight and got a few pictures of this to ask you all....

    Is this a "lowering kit" for the t-case? If so can I remove the nuts and install as normal as long as the driveshaft lengths are good? Having the bracket just floating there can not be good.

    Yeh if you want to call a kit some guy with some longer bolts and nuts. The thing that confuses me is why he would then jack the tranny back up though. Almost like it is a crossmember lowering kit.

    That tourque mount looks stock. Mine came with spacers between the frame and the crossmember stock. looks like he lost the spacers and used nuts instead.

    looks like home made stuff. the lowering kits ive seen are round hard plastic or aluminum pucks. the other rubber you were pointing at close to the tranny are i beleive torque stops to prevent over twisting of the transfer case

    Looks like the crossmemeber was dropped by the width of the nuts. It is not stock.

    OK, so a PO did this why????? Would this have been done with the 2.5" lift?

    So if my drive shaft lengths are ok I can just remove the nuts that are there as spacers?

    The torque mount under transmission is standard with 304. My 74 has two 1/4 inch thick plate between frame and crossmember which appear to be stock.
