You gotta love it when a plan comes together. Last week I rebuilt my steering shaft by replacing the lower connecting coupler and the upper universal and yoke assembly. It made a huge difference in the way my Jeep drove but todays project topped it all. My new "Bus" steering wheel arrived this morning with horn kit and I also received new clutch and brake pedal pads. All I can say is I love it. The bus steering wheel that replaced the small 13" makes a huge difference on a Jeep without power steering and over sized tires. It just makes it feel right for a 32 year old vehicle. I know, some of you are saying "youngster" compared to most of the rides on this site but it just feels so good. We are enjoying the near 80 degree weather today and my son and I took the Jeep out with top off and the windshield down. What a good day! Had to share.......:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

What are you going to do with the 13" take off?
    Want to sell it?

Were did you get the parts for the steering colum (the lower connecting coupler and the upper universal and yoke assembly)? Did you cut down the length of your steering colum? Mine sets up much too close to the driver and yours looks like your steering wheel is at least 6 - 8 inches closer to the dash than mine. Yours looks perfect.

Tkett32 - I didn't have to replace the lower steering bushing on my column, luckily it is still in good shape. Your right about not being to locate one also. If you do a search here someone has a good engineered drawing with specs that you can use to have one cut at a machine shop.

Dumpert - As for the location of my parts....eBay. The lower coupler I got for $25.00 and the upper joint and yoke I got for $42.00. 4WD hardware carries these parts also but the prices are a little higher. As for the length of the column, yes it has been cut down. I didn't do it and didn't even know it was until I started this project. After I removed the shaft I noticed the weld, if I had to guess I would say it has be cut down at least 4 inches. I wish I could help you more but that's about all I know. Later
