I am looking at a later model buick powersteering pump aplication. It is from a 231 buick. Will that be something that I can modify to my 225 odd fire? Budy has a junker car he is parting out. Kind of wondering how much of the motor will work for upgrade applications (P/S pump and fuel injection).

Thanks for the insight. I have heard differet stories from different people. I figure you guys have it all figured out.R)

    Thanks.

Thanks. 2.0 sec after I sent the thread, I acually got to digging around and found the guide. My only concern is that this is a mid/late 90's car. Should that matter?

In that guide 231 refers to only the 231 and does not include the 3800. All bets are off when it comes to them. If you find out let me know and I can add it to the guide.

Let me throw this in, make sure all the brackets are off of a rear wheel drive car. There is also an oddball power steering pump that does not look like the vast majority of them, sometime around 88-90 don't know if it fits the bracket is totally different than all the others I have seen.

Hence the reason I made the distinction it doesn't apply to the 3800. My understanding was the 231 was the RWD application, the 3800 was the FWD application name. I may be wrong on that though?

I have yet to see the car, but I believe that it is a Buick Regal. I believe that it is a front wheel drive. I sheepisly hide my embarrasment. My basic automotive mind set is a bit off target here lately.

That late of a car is probably going to have o-ring type hoses, so if you have an old steering box you have to have the hoses made.
