My brake pedal has so much wobble in it the pedal hits the V6 Dauntless block. I'm trying to figure out if the assembly can be rebuilt. I'm thinking trying to find a replacement shaft and then perhaps putting a bushing in the brake. I don't want to pull it off and apart until I have a replacement or a rebuild plan.
    Anybody dealt with this?

Thanks I searched but didn't hit that. I knew I'd seen something a couple of years ago.
I'll read through it in detail.

I am a little unsure of the concept! Does it take 2 of those brackets and a new shaft? Mine is so gunked up under there I can't tell what is part of what! One problem with mine is the cotter pin that goes through the shaft to hold the spacers on the brake end only has one hole, so it is inherently allowing the pedal to rock. I'm thinking of a couple of easier solutions to try before replacing the whole thing. 1) try to drill the hole through both sides of the shaft to square up the spacer 2) rotate the shaft to move the wear pattern. I don't need to tighten this thing much, it just hits the block barely. If those don't work it seems to me pulling the brake pedal and putting a bushing into where it rides on the shaft might solve my problem. I used to do that years ago with rocker arms.

I just did this fix. I picked up a new shaft from Krage's (P/N A495) for around $18.00. The wobble is now gone. What a difference. I still need to put the M/C back on and work on the disc brakes but I can't wait to try it out.
The old pivot shaft on my 71' did not have the "tab" for the clutch cable. I am going to install the AA Chain kit and I was told the tab is needed for this conversion.
