I have run a search and looked at pics around the site, and I have not really been able to get an idea of what an original boot for the single stick tranfer case looks like.

Any body have a pic, a link or a source?

There was no boot, it was a flat piece of rubber with a slit that was between the floorboard and the holddown collar.

Au contraire mes amis. The single stick came with a nice boot. Here are some pics off of my 69 CJ5. The drive train is now in my 46 2A. I love the twin stick so I transfered it to the big hole D-18. I have never seen anyone selling them new. The boot is in good shape for 37 years old. If anyone is interested I will throw it on e-bay.

I must admit that I have never seen one like Morteen has. It looks pretty neat and much better than the one that came on mine. I wonder if it was something that they tried and it was too much money or what. Mine is original and also in my FSM (1971 vs) there is a pic like mine. The rubber did not last vere long and over the years I have had to make new ones out of innertube rubber, but its real easy to make as it was just a round circle with a slit cut in it. I think that Morteen has something real rare there. :) I have not got around to making a new one in my rebuilt project yet.

mortten, that's an interesting piece you have there. It's along the line of what I thought should be there, but I have never seen one.

Thanks for the ebay offer, but I think I have the materials on hand to pull together something like WYOMIKE has in his pic.

Mine was also a flat piece of rubber with a slit in it. Never seen a boot that looked like that.
I also have a 1971 publication of the FSM and thats not in mine either.

I bought the 69 in 1974. It was pretty complete when I got it. Someone could have changed it but it always looked factory to me. Maybe it's out of something else that someone fabbed up.
